Who?

Picturehouse Cinemas, the UK’s largest independent cinema chain.

What?

A PR and media relations project targeting Suffolk and regional consumer media for the opening of a new cinema in Bury St Edmunds.

How?

A competition in local media for the community to choose a name for the new cinema; identifying local news angles; co-ordinating media briefings with key consumer media contacts on press and radio.

Outcome

The PR campaign helped decide the new name – Abbeygate Picturehouse. Full page articles were published in key media including the EADT, Suffolk Magazine and Let’s Talk magazine. Radio interviews were arranged on Heart FM and BBC Radio Suffolk.
