New appointments at Genesis PRAward winning Suffolk PR agency Genesis PR has appointed two new Account Executives to its growing team and has also welcomed back a former member of staff.
Ruth Ryland graduated from University of East Anglia with a BA Honours degree in English Literature before studying for an MA in Public Relations and completing an eight month internship in London. She was a student at St Albans RC High School in Ipswich.
Ian Savage has a BA Honours degree in history from University of East Anglia and travelled in Australia before returning to Suffolk where he gained valuable work experience including for Archant on Ipswich Evening Star and at a London PR agency on a three month internship. Ian went to Orwell High School and Felixstowe Sixth Form.
The third Account Executive to start with Genesis PR in 2012 is Aisleen Marley, a former employee who left two years ago to travel the World and has returned to Suffolk to start a new travel business with her partner. Aisleen is working with Genesis PR on a part time basis.
Penny Arbuthnot, Director, Genesis PR, says: “Ruth and Ian are two talented and ambitious graduates who join us with some commercial experience under their belts and are already making a valuable contribution to our client PR programmes.”
She added: “We have recently won some new clients which has enabled us to grow the team from six to eight staff including Aisleen who we are delighted to welcome back after her travels. 2012 looks as though it will be an exciting year for our business.”
Genesis PR creates and delivers PR strategies for clients, with core services including media relations, stakeholder engagement and social media. As well as a number of national clients, Genesis PR works more locally for Ipswich Building Society, Christies Care, Grant Thornton, Sanctuary Personnel and Live Well Suffolk as well as others.

Genesis PR ended 2011 on a high note by organising a Christmas celebration for the clients and staff at its nominated charity Genesis Orwell Mencap, the Ipswich based provider of services for people with disabilities, their families and carers.
The Genesis PR team provided festive fayre including mince pies and drinks and joined in the fun at the Genesis Orwell Mencap Christmas disco where the PR consultancy also made a £350 donation to the charity.
Chief Executive at Genesis Orwell Mencap Nino Serritiello said: “We were delighted Genesis PR could join us to celebrate Christmas – a good time was had by all! We are over the moon with the donation which will certainly be put to good use.”
Genesis Orwell Mencap provides a range of support services and activities for people with disabilities from its site in Wright Road, Ipswich and in the community. The organisation also runs social enterprises including Genesis Garden Furniture, the Green Bike Project which repairs unwanted bikes, pottery, soft fabric and glass crafts.

January 2nd, 2012Genesis PR helps launch new healthy lifestyles service for Suffolk
Genesis PR has been instrumental in launching an innovative new service which has been set up to help people in Suffolklive healthier lives.
The agency was brought on board by Live Well UK in April 2011 as a strategic communications partner in order to deliver PR and marketing support for Live Well Suffolk, which is a new county-wide service delivering all-round healthy lifestyles support rather than via the traditional approach of tackling issues like smoking or obesity in isolation.
Live Well Suffolk was officially launched at an event on 15th September at Adelphi House which is the service headquarters andIpswich drop-in centre. The event was attended by the Mayor of Ipswich, Councillor John Le Grys and Suffolk athlete and London 2012 paralympics hopeful Zoe Newson as well as NHS Suffolk’s deputy director of public health, Dr Amanda Jones.
Tim Roberts, director of Live Well UK said: “Since April we have been developing our services ready for the official launch and Genesis PR have been integral to that. They provide us with the expertise we need to get our messages out in the most effective and raise people’s understanding of the free support available to them to help them live a healthier lifestyle.”
As well as managing the launch event, Genesis PR have assisted the set up of Live Well Suffolk by creating a brand new interactive website (www.livewellsuffolk.org.uk) as well as creating a multitude of collateral including leaflets, posters and giveaways. The team have also co-ordinated the PR and marketing for the ‘Let’s get physical campaign’ which aims to get the people of Suffolk trying new physical activities such as zumba and spinning for free.
Genesis PR’s director, Penny Arbuthnot, commented: “Being involved in the official launch of Live Well Suffolk has been very exciting and we look forward to working with the team and helping to raise awareness of the service across the county.”
Genesis PR will be co-ordinating PR and marketing campaigns around alcohol awareness, healthy eating and stop smoking in the coming months.
Live Well Suffolk was commissioned by NHS Suffolk after a competitive tender process.
